My hair is getting on my nerves. Remember when I said I was growing it back after seeing Taraji Henson's hair in "Think Like A Man?" Yeahhh, that.
I'm still doing that process and Lord, it IS a process. I've done the grow-my-hair-back-cut-it-back off cycle two additonal times before this in my entire life, so I'm not completely ignorant, I know it'll take time and patience.
I was completely against weaves initially and now that my husband put the bug in my ear, I'm seriously considering it. I love them on other people, but I feel that if I were to wear one, I'd feel inauthentic. PLUS, as awkward as my hair looks now, I know how to deal with it and what to do to make it presentable. A weave is far out of my comfort zone and I don't want to HAVE to go to a beauty shop. I haven't been to one in years and I don't miss them- the time is a huge factor for me.
Until I can make my mind up, I've been wearing headbands and scarves like crazy. (Sorry for the poor picture quality, I'm blogging while at work to pass time)
But I only have so many scarves... suggestions anyone? Have you ever tried to grow back a longer style?

When I tried to grow my hair back the second time, flexi rods were my friend. I just hate that I don't know how to do it myself.
P.S. I LOVE your hair. It always looks so soft and pretty.
Thanks doll!
Thanks girl! It's amazing what a little clip can do. I'm glad to hear you are loving your hair again!
Thank you. And one of my friends used weave to help grow her hair natural and now, her hair is so long and naturally curly.
Thanks girl and yes, It'll be really expensive. I want that good Indian. lol.
Thank you! And I haven't, just because I'd probably have to go to the beauty shop. I could do the rods though because it looks like the texturizer. I'm going to ask my little sister to hook me up again.
P.S. I love your buns! I can't wait for my hair to grow so I can do that.
Amen to that. Stylists are key. I went to some African braiders two years ago and let them sew in some weave. I paid a pretty penny and ended up snatching it out that same week!!!
Thank you!
Awe thanks girl. You should see if there are any tutorials on YT.
The scarves look good on you.
I had a loving relationship with weave from 96 until about...last year. I always kept my hair healthy underneath but weaves were easy for me. They can be a life saver when you consider the time that they save and you pretty much have the ability to create any look that you want. I would try not to switch the weave style up too much...like every couple of months. Choose your stylist carefully, bc styling has a lot to do with how it looks on you. To me..weave is like an article of clothing or an accessory. I'm into my natural journey now, and lovin my fro but I am thinking of using a fro-y weave to protective style and save time for a while! Good luck!!
my hair is getting on my nerves too! ugh. i feel like i'm a slave to my hair sometimes, and like you i never thought weaves were for me but i'm really considering it. i want to give my real hair a break.
p.s. i like the scarves on you. have you thought about rocking the short curly look....like a texturizer
I like the head scarf look. It's cute.
I've worn weaves before and I felt just like you do about them. They look good on others but Ono couldn't get comfortable.
Give it a try. It can be expensive though especially if you want that "good" hair, the one that doesn't get tangled and look like a dead bird on your head.
excited to see the results if you get one. You'll look gorg I bet.
Ive never had a weave but everyone I know that wears them swear that it gets them through the rough patches in growing out hair...Good luck with your decision. In the meantime Im loving the scarf on you :)
I feel you with the hair woos! I actually thought about chopping my hair off a few months ago because I thought it was damaged. I clipped my ends and now I'm in love with it again. Needless to say, Im in love with the natural hair again. The scarf adds such a cute look to your hair. Good luck with whichever you choose.
Your scarf swag is too cute!

From one short haired diva to another, I'm living the struggle right now. I am sooo bored with my pixie I realized the other day I've had this look for 10 years. I try to grow it out but I hate that awkward stage as well! I don't like the way weave looks on me and it gets old very fast. I would like to let my hair out but hate that awkward stage and each time I end up giving in and cute it, because it looks a complete mess.
Right now I'm trying flexi rods for the first time and I'm loving this look. Maybe you could try them too. Or turbans.
